USOPEN 2020

Could you believe a grand slam was able to be played this year after the Covid-19 breakout? I guess they don't call New York the big apple for no reason? New York is the only place that makes it happen no matter what is going on.

Did you predict the champions of the tournament this year? My prediction for the women was Osaka or Serena. Serena knows how to overcome not playing her best tennis. She is a true champion and has paved the way for many young people. She is one to be admired in court. Osaka's level head is something to be admired as well. Osaka is a sniper on the court and we all love it.

Osaka has been very consistent throughout the entire tournament. She served very well. She picked her targets all competition and went for it. She played with purpose and a cause. It was refreshing to witness her different masks. Revolutionary, she is as she has Haitian roots through her pores. The winner of the US Open 2020 was Naomi Osaka. It was truly a sight to see.

This year a lot happened on the men’s side. Due to Covid-19, a few players didn’t show up. However, Djokovic showed up and showed out with his attitude. He got defaulted for hitting an umpire during the tournament. He was very apologetic, but unfortunately, he had to go. This action caused a negative reaction and gave way for other players to win. The champion of the USOpen 2020 was Dominic Thiem. I didn't watch much of the men's but good for him!

We had great matches this year and a lot to talk about. I believe the USOpen did a great job of keeping everyone safe. The tournament seemed to run smoothly. The strangest thing this year was the crowd. There was barely anyone able to see the matches. The players felt the difference, especially in New York. However, it was a blast!
